Turkey is famous for health tourism, but you should be sure of the medical center you choose. In the case of bariatric surgeries, it is important to know that these operations are not very invasive and that if they were to present a risk it would be one of the so-called complications of leaks. These emergency leaks can occur in the first 48 hours, it is a type of complication due to tissue scarring. During this time, you will still be in Istanbul and our medical team will attend to you.

As you can see, you don't have to worry about postoperative risks. On the other hand, remember that even when you are back in your country, you can contact us 24/7 on our support line.

DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS?

    Sleeve Gastrectomy

Sleeve Gastrectomy is a popular surgical procedure performed for obese patients. It is a weight loss surgery procedure, which can also be used in diabetes surgery. About 80% of the stomach is removed and a small gastric area is left to allow the patient to continue feeding. The sleeve gastrectomy method is preferably used in patients with morbid obesity with a high body mass index (BMI). However, the decision of the surgical intervention belongs to the doctor and the team of specialists.

    Transit Bipartition

Transit bipartition surgery is the name given to the operation of removing parts of the intestine linked to the absorption of sugar and hormones, in addition to reducing up to 70% the stomach of obese patients. The first surgical intervention was performed, approved and successful in 2012. This surgical intervention is very popular with the main objective of regulating the metabolic syndrome and helping to lose weight thanks to a restrictive and malabsorptive mechanism of action.

    Loop Bipartition

Loop bipartition is a preferred method of metabolic surgery for obese patients with type 2 diabetes rather than weight loss surgery. Loop bipartition, gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, transit bipartition are operating methods that combine the effective aspects of surgical procedures. In this operation, 70% of the stomach is removed, and following the operation, only a third of the food consumed after surgery will be processed and digested in the normal way.

    Duodenal Switch

This operation is a method created by the combination of gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy. In this procedure 80% of the stomach is removed. After this operation, only 1 to 2 liters of gastric chamber remains. This surgical procedure, which allows a weight loss of 70% or more, is applied to patients with diabetes with a high body mass index (BMI), although the final decision depends on the specialist surgeon.

    Mini Gastric Bypass

In bariatric surgery – also known as obesity surgery – it is one of the shortest and easiest surgery methods to lose weight. The most important advantage of this method preferred by surgeons is that it saves time.

Mini gastric bypass provides important control in the treatment of metabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension and hyperlipidemia. It is a cheaper surgical method to lose weight compared to another weight loss technique, because in this case the operation both shrinks the stomach, and is part of the small intestine which absorbs food.

    SADI - S

SADI – S surgery is one of the preferred surgical methods for both weight loss surgery and diabetes patients. This surgery is twofold and is performed by using both weight loss surgery and metabolic surgery methods together. SADI – S surgery can also be performed with laparoscopic surgery. SADI – S surgery, which is preferred for the solution of problems accompanying obesity disease such as diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, also provides a more seamless maintenance of the diet that the patient will perform afterwards.

    Gastric Balloon

Gastric balloon is one of the simplest methods of weight loss surgery applied especially to obesity patients. The surgical intervention lasts for 15-20 minutes and after the operation, the patient returns to his daily life on the same day. In gastric balloon surgery, food intake is prevented as the patient’s stomach volume decreases significantly. Thus, the patient can lose weight much more comfortably. The balloon, placed in the patient’s stomach with a simple surgical method, remains in the patient’s stomach for 6 months, and is then removed from the patient’s stomach in about 10 minutes.

    RnY Gastric Bypass

RnY Gastric Bypass surgery, just like SADI – S surgery, is one of the bariatric surgery methods in which both obesity surgery and metabolic surgery methods are used together. It enables the patient to be saturated even with small portions after surgery. In addition, the absorption of food is significantly reduced. After the patient’s RnY Gastric Bypass surgery, his hormones are also balanced and appetite is significantly reduced.
